Manchester United fans to fly 'Come Home Ronaldo' banner during Real Madrid match
During Real Madrid's La Liga fixture against Villareal, United supporters will charter a plane that will fly a banner over the Estadio El Madrigal with the words "Come Home Ronaldo" in an effort to sway the Portuguese player's recent commitment to the Spanish club.
Speculation about Ronaldo's return to Old Trafford has been rampant since his comments during the summer and apparent disapproval of the club's transfer policies.
But the superstar has recently reaffirmed his dedication to Los Blancos.
“It’s all speculation, speaking about my future … My future is Madrid. I’m happy. The season is going well and I’m not talking about my future, it doesn’t make sense,” Ronaldo told reporters Tuesday, via NBC Sports.
It might take more than a banner, however, since life in Madrid appears to be going well after Ronaldo's recent form saw him record seven goals in just two games. Meanwhile, United's struggles from last season seem to have carried over to the new campaign, and it would be impossible to foresee a scenario where he returns to a club that won't be competing in the Champions League.
